Coaching Terms

Effective Oct 31, 2026 · version 2026-10-31

1. Who I am and what these terms cover

These terms are an agreement between you and me, Kai Wu, doing business as WorthIQ ("I", "me"). They cover the coaching I offer through WorthIQ. Right now that's one service, a coaching week: seven days of unlimited messaging with me inside the WorthIQ web app.

If I add other services, such as video calls or packages of weeks, I'll add their details here as new sections. Where a service's own section says something different from the rest of these terms, that section applies to that service. Anything arranged with me by email (for example bulk pricing) follows these terms unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Everything these terms don't cover, including your WorthIQ account and snapshots, is covered by WorthIQ's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If they conflict on anything about coaching, these terms win.

2. Coaching, not financial, investment, tax or legal advice

Coaching is education and conversation about your money decisions and money conversations. I'm not acting as your financial adviser, investment adviser, fiduciary, broker, accountant, tax preparer or lawyer, and nothing I say is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any particular financial product. When I give you my honest view, it's my opinion as your coach, offered to help you think it through. The decisions, and what follows from them, are yours.

Some things aren't my lane. I'll tell you when a question is one of them, and suggest the kind of professional to ask instead:

  • Picking or recommending specific investments, funds or financial products
  • Preparing or filing taxes, or tax advice
  • Legal advice or legal disputes
  • Serious debt problems or bankruptcy
  • Therapy, mental health treatment or crisis support

I never manage your money, ask for access to your accounts, or earn anything from products, referrals or add-ons. If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency services right away (in the US, call or text 988).

3. Your coaching week

  • Your week starts when I first reply to your first message, and lasts exactly 7 days (168 hours) from that reply. Until then, nothing has started.
  • Every reply in your chat is written by me personally, never by AI. The one automatic message, the welcome when you book, is labelled as automatic, and so are the chat's status lines and emails.
  • I aim to reply within 24 hours. If I'm late, or the app has an outage that gets in our way, I'll add the time back to your week.
  • Messages you send before your week closes will get an answer, even if my reply comes after the close.
  • When your week closes, you can no longer send messages, but you can still read, print or copy your whole chat. I may send a follow-up after the close, but I don't promise one.

4. Unlimited messaging, within reason

  • There’s no cap on how many messages you send during your week. To stop floods, the app limits how many messages can be sent in a minute.
  • You can attach photos (JPEG, PNG or WebP) and PDFs: up to 5 per message, 10 MB each.
  • Please cover account numbers, passwords and other identifiers before you upload anything. I never need them to coach you.

5. Booking and the waitlist

  • To book, you need a WorthIQ account and a completed snapshot, which replaces an intake call. You must be 18 or older. You can book from any country.
  • You can have one open week at a time. Once your week closes, you can book another.
  • A paid week doesn’t expire. It waits until you send your first message and I reply.
  • How many clients I take at once is up to me. When I’m full, you can join the free waitlist. Joining doesn’t reserve a week or commit you to anything, and you can leave it at any time.
  • When a spot opens, I may invite you from the waitlist and hold it for you for 7 days. If you don’t book in that time, the hold ends and you stay on the waitlist.

6. Price and payment

  • A coaching week costs $200 (US dollars), paid once. It isn’t a subscription, and nothing renews.
  • Payment is handled by Stripe. I never see or store your card details.
  • If checkout shows the price in your own currency, the conversion is Stripe’s, and the amount you pay in your currency is shown before you pay.
  • The price includes any taxes that apply.
  • Your card statement shows WORTHIQ* COACHING.
  • I may change the price of future weeks. A change never affects a week you’ve already paid for.

7. Refunds

  • Not a fit? You can have a full refund, with no reason needed and no time limit. Email me at kai@worthiq.app from the address on your account.
  • A full refund closes messaging for that week. Your chat stays readable.
  • If I give you a partial refund as a goodwill gesture, your week stays open.
  • If you’re ever charged twice for an open week, the extra payment is refunded automatically.
  • Refunds go back to the way you paid. Your bank may take several business days to show them.
  • Because a refund is yours for the asking, please email me before disputing a charge with your bank or card issuer.

8. Your data and privacy

  • To coach you, I read your WorthIQ snapshots and everything you send me in the chat, including files. I may keep private notes about our conversation to help me coach you.
  • I keep our conversation confidential. I won’t share it with anyone, unless you ask me to, the law requires it, or I believe someone is at risk of serious harm.
  • If you’ve linked a partner in WorthIQ, they can’t read your chat or my notes. They may be able to see that you have coaching.
  • You can delete your chat history at any time. It removes every message, file and note, for both of us, and can’t be undone. Payment records (dates, amounts and status), the version of these terms you accepted, and records of which emails were sent (never their content) are kept for accounting.
  • I’ll never quote you or share your story publicly without your written permission.
  • To have your whole account deleted, email me at kai@worthiq.app. Payment records are kept for 4 years.

Emails about your booking, the last 24 hours of your week, its close, the waitlist and refunds always come. "Kai replied" emails can be turned off in coaching settings or from any of those emails. After your first week, you may get one invitation to review the coaching on Trustpilot. The Privacy Policy explains what data is kept, where, and who helps WorthIQ process it.

9. Conduct

Please treat the chat as you would a conversation with a professional. No abuse, harassment or threats, no unlawful requests, no sharing other people's private information without their permission, and no attempts to misuse or break the app. If that happens, I may close your week early, with a full refund, and decline future bookings.

10. If I can’t coach your week

If illness, an emergency or anything else stops me from coaching you, I'll let you know, and you can choose to have your week extended or refunded in full. If I decide I'm not the right person to help with what you've brought, I'll say so and refund you in full.

11. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, my total liability to you for a coaching week is limited to the amount you paid for it, and I'm not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including the results of financial decisions you make. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, or takes away rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived where you live.

12. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms. Each version has a date, shown at the top of this page. The version you accepted when you paid for a week applies to that week. Later versions apply to weeks booked after they take effect.

13. Law and disputes

If something goes wrong, email me first, and I'll do my best to sort it out with you within 30 days. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, and disputes go to the courts of New Jersey, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them there. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms are the whole agreement between us about coaching, alongside the documents named in section 1.
